22nd May, 2008: Hurrah!

Gamasutra yesterday published a list of their Top 20 Women in Games

I have to say, this list makes me feel all warm and glowy inside – unlike other similarly named lists I’ve seen in recent months, Gamasutra manages to honour those brilliant women who have definitely earned their place amongst the ranks. I was very pleased to see some of my own most admired women in games being featured – from from Jane McGonigal to Sheri Graner Ray, from Nicole Lazzaro to Robin Hunicke and more – this list definitely leaves no room for the Morgan Webbs of the world!

(Note: Whilst game journos and tv presenters do have their place, it’s definitely not amongst these ranks, in my opinion.)

I am definitely having a girl power moment here.

Indeed – (Well, I can think of plenty of other people very deserving to take up slots #21 through to #30 at least – but still. I can hope for maybe some number below a hundred, right? :p) First I need to whip my PhD back into shape though…
